We got together with our good friends this week (spring break!!) and staged a little photo shoot, thanks to the talent of my good friend America. Leah and little Mia were mostly cooperative, although it started to get a bit rough towards the end.
This is the pure bliss that Leah feels whenever balloons are involved.
Seriously, this is awesome.
Hey Mia, you go play. I'll sit here and hold on to the balloons.
Mom, why do you keep trying to make me smile?
Can you believe how grown up my little girl is?? I love watching her turn into a little person and become good friends with Ian. They're pretty cute together, when Leah remembers to share and to be nice. I tell her that over and over, "Be nice Leah, be nice." Then she pats his head and repeats over and over "Be nice, be nice."

the latest installment of "crap I've made"
It was a busy sewing Saturday for our house this week. Michael was out of town this weekend, so my friend Leisa and I took advantage of naptime and finally sewed new dresses (matching : ) for our daughters. We had all of the pieces already cut out, but we did all of the sewing (except the very first step) all in one day, in one naptime.
Ian even got some sewing done for him too yesterday. Every 10 month old needs a bowtie, right?
In the end, Leah's dress turned out to be so small it wouldn't even fit over her head, so I remade it late last night (the risk of sewing during naptime). It was even easier the second time. I used my serger on all of the inside seams and I love how it looks on the inside. So neat. It's the little things in life, isn't it?
